The Maintenance Engineer ensures safe and reliable operation of mechanical systems for Guild Associates Inc. Manufacturing facilities at the lowest life cycle cost. This role will be responsible for ensuring Guild’s maintenance and reliability program is executed in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner. The successful candidate will also be expected to identify, develop, and implement innovative solutions to mechanical system/asset issues. This person will also be expected to respond to unplanned events, work independently, and make highly technical decisions and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary technical resource for maintenance of:
 
  • Rotating equipment such as compressors, pump’s, Blower’s and associated gearbox and gearing systems.
  • Fixed equipment such as natural gas drying ovens with associated conveyor belts
  • Auxiliary systems such as Air compressor’s, filter press,  water treatment systems.
  • Lead predictive maintenance programs – Motor Amp draws and heat loads on all associated equipment.
  • Lead or assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities as needed.
  • Identify and resolve chronic mechanical asset concerns.
  • Develop and execute expense/capital projects for reliability improvement.
  • Assist in resolution planning for long-term mechanical asset concerns timing for equipment lifecycle replacements.
  • Assess equipment performance data and identify and lead activities to ensure optimal reliability and efficient performance.
  • Develop a yearly budget of corrective-maintenance, preventive-maintenance, and/or projects.
  • Assist in turnaround planning and execution.
  • Lead resolution of highest impact issues with a strong sense of urgency and integrity.
  • This position requires Accessibility during off-hours (laptop and cell phone) is required.

Required Qualifications:
 
  • Associate/Bachelor Degree in Engineering and minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance/rotating equipment maintenance/reliability engineering in an industrial manufacturing environment OR
  • Non-degreed with minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance of rotating equipment and reliability in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment such as Gas fired drying ovens, mag drive and direct drive pumps, conveyor belts, electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of Preventive and Predictive maintenance techniques
  • Excellent communication, team interaction and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks and achieves results with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail, Excel etc.).

Desired Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes including ASME.
  • Proven knowledge of reliability methodologies and strategies such as RCM, TPM, Spare Parts Management, Planning & Scheduling and CMMS optimization.
