Quality Systems Engineer
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to ensure product and process quality across our manufacturing operations. The Quality Engineer will develop and implement quality control systems, drive continuous improvement, lead root-cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet regulatory and customer requirements. This role combines hands-on problem solving with data-driven quality methods to reduce defects, improve yield, and support production ramp-ups.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to ensure product and process quality across our manufacturing operations. The Quality Engineer will develop and implement quality control systems, drive continuous improvement, lead root-cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet regulatory and customer requirements. This role combines hands-on problem solving with data-driven quality methods to reduce defects, improve yield, and support production ramp-ups.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain quality control plans and inspection criteria for manufacturing processes.
- Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address non-conformances and reduce recurrence.
- Monitor product and process performance using statistical methods (SPC) and quality metrics; report trends and recommend improvements.
- Conduct first article inspections, incoming inspection, in-process audits, and final product verification.
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to resolve quality issues and support new product introductions.
- Create and maintain documentation including FMEAs, control plans, inspection instructions, and test procedures.
- Train production and quality teams on inspection methods, quality standards and continuous improvement tools.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and customer requirements.
- Participate in design reviews to provide input on producibility and design-for-quality.
- Use data analysis tools to identify opportunities for cost reduction and defect prevention.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or related field) or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality engineering role or similar position.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001 and industry-specific requirements.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
- Proficiency with measurement and test equipment, GD&T, and inspection techniques.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing environments and production quality issues.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies; certification (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt) preferred.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with quality management software and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Excel).
